Although not 'small', La Maison de Marguerite is an ideal gite for a memorable self-catering holiday in the pretty French village of Cresse located the Charente Maritime region of France.

Bernard and Judith Lawrence welcome you to this website and to the delights of their 'French Gite - La Maison de Marguerite', and invite you to experience what they and their family and friends enjoy when visiting the Charente Maritime region of France.
As you would expect from a French self-catering holiday gite, the kitchen is extremely well equipped with a fridge/freezer, cooker, enough china, cutlery and accessories for 12 and a large kitchen table. Leading from this there is a large utility room where you will find a microwave, breadmaker, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier.
For more formal dining there is a separate dining room with another large table.
The house also features an original wooden spiral staircase which dominates the entrance hall and creates an impressive, authentic French welcome to the property.
The large lounge, which has two shuttered windows to the front of the house, has a television with DVD and video players and a woodburner for additional warmth during winter months.
Outside you will find a truly a wonderful terrace, with built in BBQ which is shaded, when necessary, by a vine absolutely dripping with grapes.For energetic visitors there are three bikes and a table tennis table. But for more leisurely pursuits there is a set of boule (a game for all ages) and a dartboard. You will find ample outside parking and a garage - all of which are secure being within La Maison de Marguerite's walled garden which also has a lockable gate.
New for 2005 is a large paddling pool - 3.05m in diameter for families who have children who literally just want to get wet and not swim 1/2 mile! It can be refilled regularly, does not use filters or chlorine which a swimming pool needs.
Gas and electricity are included as are logs for the woodburner for bookings of up to 2 weeks between October and March. All the beds have duvets, but bed linen (undersheets, sheets, blankets, duvet covers, pillowcases, bath, hand and tea towels are not included).
